Design & Engineering

Touring's "Superleggera" construction method — a lightweight tubular framework supporting thin aluminium body panels — gave the car an unusually favourable power-to-weight ratio for its era, directly benefiting both performance and handling. The proportions established here, a long bonnet, flowing roofline and restrained detailing, became the visual language Aston Martin would carry through the DB5 and beyond.
