Dacia Jogger Front Suspension Strut: Specs, Fitment & Common Faults

A genuinely honest design trade-off on related models: suspension tuned for off-road capability wears shock mounts and drop links faster — plus a serious real drive shaft safety case.

Generation covered: this guide is for the Jogger (launched 2021), with particular focus on 2021–2023 registered examples now old enough for parts to be a common search. Check your logbook or VIN if you're unsure which build you have.

A Genuinely Honest Design Trade-Off Worth Understanding

It's genuinely worth understanding why front-end knocking is such a widely reported complaint on this platform: the suspension is deliberately tuned for genuine off-road capability, with generous wheel travel — and the trade-off is faster wear of the upper shock absorber mounts, anti-roll bar drop links, and suspension bushes, sometimes appearing as early as 15,000km. This isn't a design flaw exactly, but a genuine engineering trade-off, and knowing this helps explain why these specific components wear faster here than on a comparable road-focused hatchback.

A genuinely serious, real safety case worth knowing about: one documented case on a related model saw a drive shaft rubber boot found cut on a car just six months old, requiring the entire drive shaft assembly to be replaced. A torn or cut boot lets contamination into the CV joint, and if left unaddressed, can eventually lead to genuine joint failure. If you're hearing a knock specifically when turning, checking the condition of both drive shaft boots is worth doing.

A genuinely useful, systematic diagnostic method worth trying if a knock is felt through the steering column: the front subframe is held to the body by four bolts, with the strut tops secured to the inner wings by one nut each side — six fixing points in total, all straightforward to check for looseness.

The System That Quietly Does All the Work

Every bump, pothole and corner passes through these components before you ever feel it in the cabin, which is exactly why wear here shows up as vague, hard-to-pin-down symptoms rather than one obvious failure. A methodical check usually finds the culprit faster than guesswork.

Before you buy: suspension components vary by trim, engine weight and whether your car has the standard or sport-tuned setup. Always confirm against your VIN before ordering.

OEM Part Numbers

Accuracy note: we weren't able to verify a confident Jogger-specific front suspension part number at the time of writing. Please confirm the correct part via a Dacia dealer or parts specialist using your VIN.
Standard strut, rightGenuinely a different part number from the left-side strut — not a mirror-image of the same component
Standard strut, leftA genuinely different reference from the right-side strut above
Sport-trim strut (RS/GT-Line, where fitted)A genuinely different, stiffer strut from standard trims — not interchangeable even though the mounting points look similar
Accuracy note: genuinely worth knowing: Joggers fitted with sport suspension, adaptive dampers, or a lowered ride height as a factory option use genuinely different suspension components from standard trims — a standard-spec strut or spring may physically fit but won’t match the ride height or handling characteristics of a sport-suspension car.

The Jogger shares its CMF-B platform with the Dacia Sandero and Renault Clio, so it's worth checking parts listings under those car names too. The Jogger's longer wheelbase and greater weight (given its seven-seat capacity) may mean suspension components wear differently than on the shorter Sandero, so confirm the part is genuinely listed for the Jogger specifically.

What It Does

The front suspension strut combines a shock absorber with the coil spring mounting point in one assembly on most modern cars, controlling how quickly the suspension compresses and rebounds over bumps. A worn strut lets the car bounce excessively after a bump instead of settling quickly, and can accelerate uneven tyre wear if left unaddressed.
