A Genuinely Useful Adaptation: The Same Diagnostic Logic Applies to Motor Mounts — Renault Zoe Engine Mount
The Zoe genuinely still has mounts supporting the electric motor, even without a combustion engine — and the same underlying diagnostic principle applies: a worn mount can sometimes be the effect of an underlying issue transmitting excess vibration into it, rather than being the original cause. On an EV, this is less likely to stem from a misfire (since there isn't one), but a genuinely rough-feeling motor or unusual vibration is still worth investigating on its own merits before assuming a mount alone explains everything.
Renault Zoe Engine Mount: What It Does
Engine mounts secure the engine and transmission to the chassis while absorbing vibration and movement, preventing that vibration from transferring directly into the cabin. Most versions of the Zoe use several mounts working together — typically at least one on each side of the engine plus a torque mount — and a single failed mount can throw off the whole assembly's balance.
